10 Two Year Old Activities We’ve Actually Done (And Loved!)
I’m so excited to finally share these two year old activities! Most of them have been on my to-do list for ages, and we finally made them all — just us, at home, with simple materials. And yes, they’re all toddler-approved 😊

Some of these activities might need a tiny bit of prep (nothing wild — you can totally do it during nap time), but they’re super quick to set up and 100% worth it. We came up with all of these ourselves, and they’ve been such a hit over here!
If you’re looking for fresh, creative, and easy activities for toddlers that also support learning and development — you’re in the right place.
Let’s dive in 💛
1. DIY Felt Bandaids + First Aid Box
We made little felt bandaids using Velcro and colorful felt — and turned a small box into a mini first-aid kit. It’s honestly so cute. Great for pretend play, fine motor skills, and learning empathy 🩹
2. Frozen Dino Eggs
We popped little dinosaurs into balloons with colored water, froze them overnight, and let the fun begin the next day. Sensory play meets tiny archaeologist. Perfect for summer and super fun to explore textures and temperature!
3. Tea Cup Rainbow Drops Game
This one felt like a little science experiment! We drew colorful tea cups on paper, popped it into a clear plastic sleeve, added a layer of oil, and dropped in some water mixed with food coloring. Then your toddler gets to “push” the drops to the right cup with a popsicle stick. It’s satisfying, colorful, and surprisingly calming.
4. DIY Maze With Joystick
We made a maze from cardboard — but instead of a marble, we created our own joystick using a wooden spoon and a bead! The idea: guide a little flower through the maze to reach the flower girl. This one is awesome for problem-solving and hand-eye coordination. And it looks super cute too 🌼
5. Popsicle Stick Bridge
Two small tables, some tape between them (we did two rows), and then your toddler can stick popsicle sticks across to build a bridge. They’ll love driving little cars across afterward — great for creative thinking and building skills!
6. Giant Dot Game
We cut big round circles from cardboard, made matching cards with different dot patterns, and taped a grid on the floor. Toddlers can match and arrange the dots according to the card patterns. It’s super simple but really helps with visual matching, counting, and focus.
7. Popsicle Stick Puzzles
Stick a sticker across two popsicle sticks, cut it in half — and boom, you’ve got a puzzle! We did a bunch of them and they’re such an easy DIY brain teaser for 2-year-olds. Great for concentration and fine motor skills.
8. Rainbow Puzzle Box
We used washi tape in rainbow colors, glued on cotton balls as clouds, and then made color-matching slots for half-cut Q-tips. Toddlers can match each Q-tip to the right color. Great for color recognition, fine motor skills, and just… adorable 😍
9. Emotions Matching Game
We drew different emotions on toilet paper rolls and made matching spoons with the same faces. Toddlers get to match the spoon to the right roll. It’s a fun and easy way to talk about feelings, expressions, and social awareness.
10. Pom Pom Spoon Walk
Tape a line on the floor (zigzag or straight) and have your toddler balance a pom pom on a spoon as they walk the line. It’s super silly, and great for coordination, balance, and focus — plus they’ll want to do it again and again.
Let me know which one you’re going to try first! 💛
