But how many baby shower activities should you include? A good rule of thumb is to plan for about two to five activities, depending on the length of your shower and the vibe you’re going for.

Choose a mix of interactive, crafty, and keepsake-focused activities to keep everyone laughing, creating, and having a blast. Plus, leave the mom-to-be grinning from ear to ear with a keepsake she’ll absolutely treasure!

Before diving into the list, here are some considerations to help you choose the perfect activities:

Considerations Before Choosing Activities

  • Do you want guests to create something fun for themselves or a keepsake for the baby?
  • Would you prefer multiple short activities or one longer, centerpiece activity?
  • Are your guests generally into crafting, or would low-effort options suit them better?
  • How many children will be attending, and should activities involve them?
  • Do you want activities that double as entertainment and décor?
  • What’s the personality of the parents-to-be? Playful, sentimental, or laid-back?
  • How much time do you have for activities, and how much space is available?
  • Would you like to provide supplies, or should guests bring their own contributions?

To make things easier, I’ve gathered a mix of activities that are creative, practical, and downright fun. Let’s dive into the ultimate list of baby shower activities!

Postpartum Care Coupon Book

Ask guests to fill out “coupons” for things they can offer postpartum, like bringing over dinner, babysitting, or even a coffee date. This creates a physical reminder of the help that’s available.

It’s such a simple idea, but the mom-to-be would be so grateful for this thoughtful gesture postpartum! Plus, it serves as a much-needed support system for those early days when help is everything!

Onesie Decorating Station

Set up a craft station with plain onesies, fabric markers, and stencils. Guests can design adorable outfits for the baby while unleashing their inner artist. It’s a keepsake that combines practicality with creativity! 🙂

Create a Memory Jar

Provide a jar and slips of paper for guests to write advice, wishes, or funny parenting tips for the parents-to-be. They’ll love reading these heartfelt (and hilarious) notes later.

You could even include prompts like, “The best advice my mom gave me was…” to get the creativity flowing.

DIY Scented Candles

My absolute favorite activity, and one you don’t see at every baby shower, is this one!

Guests get to make their own custom candles. Guests like this activity because it’s something practical they can actually use and love! To keep it on theme, you can go for baby-friendly scents like snuggly baby powder, oatmeal milk, calming lavender or sweet vanilla.

Setting up your own candle-making station is super easy. All you need are simple jars, soy wax, wicks, and some essential oils. Add a little flair by including dried flowers, pastel-colored wax dye chips, or even tiny charms that float in the wax.

For that extra touch, add baby-smelling scents like “Snuggly Baby Powder” or “Oatmeal Milk.” These little details make all the difference and keep the candles totally on theme!

Letters for Tough Days

Ask guests to write personal letters to the mom-to-be with advice, memories, or love. Label them for different moments, like “Open when you feel overwhelmed” or “Open when you need a laugh.”

The letters can be bundled together in a pretty keepsake box or binder.

I really would have LOVED this one at my baby shower! Postpartum can be a bit lonely sometimes, especially at midnight when you’re feeling exhausted and overwhelmed!

Polaroid Photo Booth

Create a cute photo backdrop with cute baby props and a Polaroid camera. Guests can take snaps to add to a guestbook or keep as souvenirs. It’s a fantastic way to capture candid moments and doubles as entertainment!

Build-a-Baby Playlist

Ask guests to suggest their favorite lullabies or songs they loved as kids. Create a Spotify playlist as a sentimental gift for the parents-to-be. It’s a thoughtful activity that keeps on giving!
